Lee & Smith are wonderful attorneys that can help your husband along with the process, as I don't know all the circumstances my advice is to call them right now they have folks on call 24hrs a day, they will come to you, no need to waste gas.

As for SSI there is a lady by the last name of Greene she was based out of Albemarle lat time I heard as it has been over a year since I lived in NC, and over 9 years since the last person I sent to her. But there are also others that can and will fight for your husband everyone is turned down but when a lawyer is involved they for some reason change there mind. The great news is keep appealing there decisions, when it is approved they will back pay all that was rightfully belonging to your family. I have 2 children on SSDI right now. When my husband was fighting for his disablitily they in fact back paid him as I kept on it. Don't give up! All of gods children regin victory in the end! May God speed comfort to your family soon!

I also have heard the same, not enough funds I guess folks are all around going through a hard time. I know that both of your families can call 211 they were a blessing to me with finding places that offer food assistance, as for electric bills good luck! The heat is running all of our electric bills skyhigh! I will keep both families in our prayers and wish you all the best. You can also call 211 from a homebased phone and theyy can let you know of other giving out food, and soup kitchens. I know soup kitchens are a little extream, however it beats you guys only eating ramen noodles and water it's much healthier for that little growing buy!

I do agree, I find myself finding ways to try to make things better as I feel we have too. No one in this world is just going to fix all of our problems. Things may happen slowly but it also took time for us to get in the situations we are in, even if we don't realize it.

I sometimes have to push the bigger problems aside and try to figure out ways to accomplish the little things that may be stopping me from things.

I was in the same situation with my daughter's doctors not being able to call. I was able to gather up about $20.00 to get one of the pre-paid phones are they the best no. However if you only use it to recieve calls pertaining to jobs it should last, I wish I could help more. But I thought any suggestion could be useable. $20 ie easier to come up with then a couple of hundred. Well I have three children, which I am very blessed to have. We found out in August 2007 that my 8yr old daughter, has acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, 2 months after we find out my 5 yr old is Austic. The oldest daughter has no health concerns what so ever.I have full faith that God will heal and guide me with both children. However bills are piling up, we have been relocated twice for treatment for the 8 yr old. (I paid for all this myself) She honestly still is no better then when we were at home. Her allergies keep them changing her meds or stopping Chemo al together. She was just put back on a breathing machine, Its just too much for her little body to handle. I have tried to do yard sales and even collect ink cartridges however with the meds insurance won't cover and gas being what it is, I am drowing. I help out at a food pantry as often as I can so folks have tried to help as much as they could but being in a new state not knowing anyone, it makes thing even more difficult. As for any other family, my husband passed away in Aug of 03 right after the baby was born and my family is not worth the time to type about.
